Rave Reviews

"Our first pony camping experience and we absolutely loved it. The facilities are balanced out between eco conscious whilst still providing home comforts. The hacking is out of this world with stubble fields as far as the eye can see. We loved it and will definitely back for more. Thanks so much for helping us create some special memories for our girls."

"Absolute horsey heaven with fantastic company in the most amazing horsey paradise in North Yorkshire. We’ve been to XC at Carr Farm, to Filey beach and for the been on the most stunning beautiful hacks I’ve ever seen!! Crossing streams, sleeping in a yurt with Mr Bailey and his friends roaming around outside, pinching my cider, joining our picnic like an overgrown dog. We slept in the coolest yurt and I learned so many tips that I am going to bring hone to be more eco-friendly!! The campsite was really clever with so many lovely touches, the yurt had an Africa theme, we showered in a converted Horsebox (really creative and great fun!!). Superbly situated with a pub and tea rooms a short stroll away. At night we sat round the camp fire and watched our horses through the window and saw them staring at us when we had to siphon off the alcohol in the eco-toilet outside!! It was such an adventure and I cannot recommend this holiday enough to anyone who is thinking of planning a group weekend away with horsey friends! We are booking for next year and I’m even going to take the hubby and dogs (yes it’s dog friendly too!!) Thank you to the lovely couple Kate and Adam for such a brilliant, magical few days with fabulous company both Human and horses!! Can’t wait for next year!!!

"Our first Pony Glamping experience and it was fabulous!! The yurt and all the camping facilities were brilliant we had everything we needed, a lot of thought had gone in to all the finishing touches. We loved that the horses were so close we could hear them munching while we were falling asleep. Kate took us on a hack through the beautiful countryside when we arrived. Such a lovely location and so much more to explore, thank you Kate and Adam we can’t wait to come back."

Booking is made super-simple with any/all queries answered quickly by Kate, which in turn instantly conveys a feeling of welcome.

Upon arrival, there is help with luggage and a tour to help settle horses and humans quickly and easily.

The site is the perfect drop-put spot! So peaceful and well-presented that it feels very much like camping in the countryside but with the comforts that many of us crave (softies!), especially after long hacks.

The yurts are beautiful inside: having stayed in a fair few ‘glamping’ yurts and bell tents at festivals, I can honestly say these yurts are the comfiest, cleanest and prettiest I’ve found and they have all you could need for a good night’s sleep and enjoyable stay. The toilet is really something else! I cannot believe I’m writing about a toilet but having visited said festivals and experienced eco-toilets, I was frankly dreading using them again but…NO SMELL! None! Hot shower on site, shared but solo use each time, capped the comfort element off.

Now, on to the best bits: your horse is literally next to you and on view from the yurt and the outdoor relaxation areas. What a treat! Water and hay are readily available if needed, so they are comfortable too.

Kate is a wonderful, generous and gracious host. She gave us excellent instructions for our own independent evening hack on our first day; then accompanied/led us on a whole morning (3 hour) hack the following day. Her knowledge of the area is superb, and her warm and welcoming manner extends right through to each moment on the hack, ensuring everyone from the most confident (my son on his thoroughbred) to the least (me on a five year old Friesian) enjoyed the entire experience going at whatever pace suits you and your horse best. She also took beautiful photos and videos, then created a lovely reel for us to treasure.

I cannot begin to describe the sights you will see on the local hacks: stunning; incredible and awesome are all over-used  in our vocabulary nowadays but in this case, they are not quite enough. You must simply book and experience them for yourselves.

Thank you Kate. For a couple of days, we were really living the dream.
